Don't be intimidated by them!
I was at my friend's house for a sleepover.
We spent the night eating loads of junk food and woke up to a box of doughnuts and 2 cartons of orange juice. No, I was not healthy back then.
While my friend and I stuffed ourselves with the sugar-coated doughnuts, her mom was making a green smoothie. "Anyone want to try a sip?" she asked. My friend and I looked at each other and cringed.
Why would you ever want to drink vegetables for breakfast?
"No thanks." I told her.
"Are you sure?" She asked. "Just one sip, that's all."
I thought about it, long and hard. It wouldn't kill me, right?
"Okay, why not." I replied.
She handed me a straw as I shut my eyes and sipped from the glass.
To my surprise, it was DELICIOUS.
As a busy high school student, preparing a good breakfast can be very time consuming, especially if you're in a rush. Smoothies are the easiest breakfast you could ever make. Just throw some fruits and vegetables in a blender and BAM, breakfast is done. I drink a smoothie almost everyday, and I LOVE THEM! Smoothies make great snacks too! Perfect for replenishing your body after a good workout.- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 3-5 dates (depending on how big your sweet tooth is)
- 1 cup of kale
- 1 tbsp lucuma powder
- 1 tbsp maca powder
- 1/4 cup mulberries
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 bananas
Throw all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender and pulse until you get a smooth and creamy consistency. Enjoy!
